Non-invasive treatment that uses a device to apply intermittent pressure to affected areas of the body.
WHAT IS DYNAMIC COMPRESSION THERAPY?
Dynamic Compression Therapy (DCT) is a non-invasive treatment that uses a device to apply intermittent pressure to the affected area of the body. This therapy is commonly used to treat a variety of conditions, including lymphedema, chronic venous insufficiency, and deep vein thrombosis.
During DCT, the device applies pressure to the affected area in a rhythmic manner, with alternating periods of high and low pressure. This helps to improve circulation and reduce swelling by stimulating the flow of lymphatic fluid and blood. The pressure can be adjusted to meet the individual needs of the patient, and the treatment can be targeted to specific areas of the body.
DCT can be used in combination with other therapies, such as exercise and manual lymphatic drainage, to help manage symptoms and improve overall health. It is a safe and effective treatment that can be used in both acute and chronic conditions.
