  • We no longer bill insurance for private acupuncture. If you would like a Super Bill to submit to your insurance for reimbursement please let the front desk know prior to your appointment.

Coverage is still available for 60 minute Private acupuncture, massage or craniosacral through:

    • Auto Insurance claims “personal injury”

    • Workers Compensation claims “personal injury”

  • Acupuncture can be reimbursed with your HSA or FSA accounts.

Ask the front desk for a receipt that you can submit for reimbursement.

    • Stay Hydrated! Drink at least a few water bottles of water before, during and after your sauna session.

    • Try to wait 1 to 2 hours after eating before beginning a far infrared sauna session. This allows your body to attain the best overall results, since blood is not being diverted for digestion.

    • Towels are required in the saunas-- you may bring your own or you may rent 2 for $2 from NE Wellness.

    • You will probably appreciate having one towel to sit on or lay on. One towel to help wipe off and absorb perspiration as it accumulates on your body so that you sweat more. One towel placed under your feet to catch any perspiration that might otherwise fall to the sauna floor.

    • You may not sweat a lot during your first 2-3 sauna sessions. This is normal for many people, as they haven’t had a recent history of sweating, and it takes a few sessions to “retrain” the body/ lymph system to do what comes naturally.

    • Over time, you will begin to sweat more quickly and at a lower temperature setting as your body adjusts to your regular sauna routine.

    • Listen to your Body! Take care not to overheat during your first few sessions. If you feel lightheaded, have a queasy stomach, or start to get a headache, terminate session immediately. As the body continues to adjust, sweating can increase dramatically and body temperature regulation becomes more effective.

    • Sauna Apparel. Birthday Suit is great, seeing as you have the entire sauna room to yourself for 45-50 mins. More skin exposure is certainly preferable as it’s easier to wipe away sweat.

  • Minneapolis

If your session is unstaffed, you will receive a text with a link that gives you access to the side door, 5 minutes prior to your appointment time. Please place your shoes on the rug to help keep our clinic and sauna rooms clean.   We have refreshing drinks in our vending machine in the front lobby, for you to enjoy after your sweat session!

The Sauna Rooms are labeled by Room Numbers 1 to 4 when booking online and will be in your schedule reminder what room you are scheduled in. The sauna room entry doors are on the left side of the hallway, after entering the side door. Use the clipboard during after-hours to let us know you arrived and check appropriate boxes. The clipboard in located directly to the right when you first enter.

IMPORTANT: Please remove any body lotions, makeup, perfumes, colognes, deodorants, etc. from your body prior to your appointment. Showering before your session is ideal.

    1. Place towels on the bench where you are sitting, and on the floor where your feet are placed. Use the towels to wipe sweat from your body prior to entering the plunge tanks, if you are booked in Sauna Room 1. If you have rented towels from us, please place your dirty towels in the laundry bins.

    2. When you have completed your time (45 minutes in the room), follow cleaning instructions posted on the sauna door. If you leave the room unkempt, this could lead to suspension of your account. All after-hours clients must follow cleaning protocols. A speaker will notify you in the room when your session has ended. This is your que to start the cleaning process and prepare to leave the room.

    3. If you have indicated red-light services, the safety goggles can be found in the wicker basket near the lobby couch. Please use a sanitary cloth to wipe them clean and place them in the "dirty bin" located near the couch area in the lobby.

    4. We recommend starting temperatures between 130-140 degrees for your infrared sauna experience. Studies show that using an infrared sauna at a lower temperature reduces electrolyte loss and dehydration whilst still extracting a sweat that is heavily made up of toxins. While you may sweat more at higher temps, detoxification is more effective at lower temps.

We appreciate your attention to detail! Thank you for being a valued member of NE Wellness & Sweatworks Studios. We hope your session has you feeling rested, restored, and rejuvenated.

  • In community acupuncture you will be treated in a large semi-private room with other individuals. Needles are inserted below the elbows and knees, as well as head and ears. We are able to treat any condition distally or locally in this setting. There is no need to undress, just wear what is comfortable.

Acupuncture is one of the oldest, most common and dependable medical therapies used in the world. It is by nature simple, safe and effective health care. Acupuncture practitioners use thin, sterile disposable needles inserted superficially into specific areas of the body in order to help the body's ability to heal itself.

  • Seated comfortably alongside other members of your community, you will receive a personalized, distal acupuncture treatment. This means we only needle from the knees down, from the elbows down, in the ears, face, and head.

There are more nerves in you arms and legs, particularly below the elbows and knees. Where there is higher nerve density, there is more brain stimulation, which leads to more pain relief. Needling these areas also releases more endorphins and pain-modulating substances.

Needling from the elbows down and knees down makes NE Wellness more accessible and affordable to all. We're able to see more people at once because all you need to do is roll up your pants and sleeves.

You can relax for 30 to 60 minutes, allowing your body to use its naturally occurring healing abilities to help you get well and stay that way.

  • For community acupuncture, we only needle from the knees down, from the elbows down, in the ears, face, and head. Please wear pants or shorts that you can roll up to expose knees and below; short sleeves to expose elbows and below. No street shoes are allowed in the community acupuncture room.
