Exercise has been an important part of the Ayurvedic routine for thousands of years but it is looked very different. Today exercise focuses on rigorous routines, with exhausting results. It has become a modern fad, not suitable for optimal wellness. According to Ayurveda, exercise gets rid of heaviness and stiffness of the body, because it burns digestive impurities and toxins (ama) this creates more flexibility, lightness, smoothness, and ease of life.
